Suno v6 Settings: What Works With Suno Styles

For Suno v6, start with Weirdness 20%, Style Influence 75%, and Variety Off (0) in the advanced controls. Our styles are working very well in the new model. High Variety has also given us great results in our initial tests, but because it can change the style prompt, we recommend starting with it off and experimenting from there.

Already have a favorite style? Start there. You do not need to replace its prompt just because Suno has moved to v6.

Which Suno v6 settings should I try?

  • Model: v6
  • Weirdness: 20%
  • Style Influence: 75%
  • Variety: Off (0)

These are our starting settings, not a claim that one preset wins for every song. Weirdness 20% and Style Influence 75% have worked well in our current listening tests. Starting with Variety Off lets you hear the original prompt before trying variations; it is not a claim that Off won a controlled comparison.

One detail matters: Variety can change your style prompt. Start with Off (0) to keep your style tags unchanged, then try other Variety settings once you have a baseline. Suno explains this behavior in its official v6 FAQ.

How to use a Suno Styles prompt in v6

  1. Find a style in the library. Choose the sound you want to make, rather than adding unrelated genre descriptions to the same prompt.
  2. Open the style and use Copy Style. Access depends on your Suno Styles tier.
  3. In Suno, select v6, open Advanced mode, and paste the copied prompt into the Style field.
  4. Set Weirdness to 20%, Style Influence to 75%, and Variety to Off (0) using the controls. Keep these settings separate from the text you paste.
  5. On the Suno Styles page, click Copy Exclude and paste the tags into Suno’s Exclude field under Advanced Options.
  6. Add your lyrics or choose an instrumental, then generate. Listen for the things that matter to your track: the groove, instruments, vocal delivery and overall production.

What do the controls change?

Weirdness: how far Suno explores

Suno describes Weirdness as a range from Safe to Chaos, with 50% as the normal expected result. Our 20% starting point sits toward the safer end of that range. See Suno's Creative Sliders guide.

Style Influence: how closely Suno follows the style input

Style Influence runs from Loose to Strong, according to the same guide. We are getting good results at 75% with our style prompts. It gives the style description a strong role without treating the maximum setting as the automatic choice.

Variety: whether Suno adjusts the prompt

Variety is not another name for Weirdness. Suno says Variety introduces variation by adjusting and updating your style prompts. We like the results from High in our current tests, but it is not the choice for keeping every original tag untouched.

For unchanged style tags, Suno recommends Variety 0. Start there, then experiment with other settings, including High, using a familiar style. Decide which interpretation better serves your song.

What if the result is not what I wanted?

Sometimes it takes several generations to find a version worth developing further. One disappointing result does not necessarily mean the style prompt is wrong. Listen for a promising groove, vocal performance or arrangement before deciding what to change.

  • The output is too unpredictable: try reducing Weirdness while leaving the other settings alone.
  • The musical direction is getting lost: check whether Variety changed the prompt, then compare a higher Style Influence setting.
  • You like the direction but not this take: try a few more generations with the same settings before rewriting the entire prompt. Keep the strongest version as your starting point for further work.

Change one thing at a time so you can hear what helped.

Those are practical adjustments to try, not measured guarantees of a better result. Keep the versions you like and compare them with the same lyrics or instrumental brief.

Questions about Suno v6 and existing styles

Do Suno Styles prompts work with v6?

Yes. Our current tests are producing great results with existing Suno Styles prompts. Start with the settings above, then adjust for your song.

Is this also a recommendation for v6-wild or v6-mini?

This recommendation is for v6. Suno also offers v6-wild, aimed at exploration, and v6-mini. We are not presenting these settings as a separately tested preset for those models. See Suno's v6 announcement for the differences.

Do I need a paid Suno plan?

Suno says v6 and v6-wild require Pro or Premier, while v6-mini is available to everyone. A Suno Styles plan gives you access to our prompt library; it does not include a Suno subscription or generation credits.

Are the audio examples in the library all made with v6?

No. Some existing demos were made with earlier Suno models. A recommendation for using a prompt in v6 does not change the model used to make its original demo.

Try it with a sound you love

Browse Suno Styles, copy a prompt available to your tier, and try it in v6 with 20% Weirdness, 75% Style Influence and Variety Off (0). Then experiment with Variety and use Exclude to steer away from unwanted elements.
